Here is their story: Beni Ouarain is a group of 17 Berber tribes in the Atlas mountains in Morocco. The rug was originally used as a warm blanket or cape, protecting during cold winters in the Atlas Mountains. Moroccan rugs are characterized by a simple abstract geometric motif, hand-woven from pure wool.

Real Beni Ourain vintage rugs are never more than 220 cm wide, so the widths are probably new instead of vintage. Character and spirit are an expression of the daily life experiences of the people who created them and each one is unique. The wool is cream-colored. It may have some variation in shade depending on the color of the wool of the sheep, so Beni Ourain’s snow-white rugs do not exist.
